Grants to Virginia nonprofit organizations in eligible areas for housing projects that benefit local residents. Funding is intended for activities that promote workforce housing and advance the organizational capacity required to improve housing production, leverage other funding, and model innovative workforce housing strategies in Loudoun.

Priorities include:

  • Projects that advance and support workforce housing production in Loudoun, and/or;
  • Projects that model innovative workforce housing strategies in Loudoun.
  • Likelihood of project completion.

Projects will be judged based on their innovation, replicability, impact on workforce housing production, and leverage of other resources. Eligible expenses include consultant fees, staffing costs, feasibility studies, site control costs, and/or planning expenses.

Estimated Total Program Funding:

$350,000

Estimated Size of Grant:

The minimum grant size expected to be awarded is $50,000. The maximum grant is $350,000.

Term of Contract:

Grants will be awarded for expenditure over a one-year period.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be a 501(c)3 nonprofit public charity in good standing with the IRS.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications are due by Friday, September 30, 2022, at 5:00 p.m.

Finalists may be requested to complete an interview with LCC members the week of October 17, 2022. It is anticipated that all applicants will be notified of final decisions by November 4, 2022.

Potential applicants are welcome and invited to ask questions in advance of the application deadline. Questions may be directed to Nicole Acosta, Vice President of Grants and Nonprofit Programs. Alternatively, applicants are welcome to schedule a time to meet with Nicole to ask questions.

Organizations may submit up to two applications for varied or unique projects. Please submit one unique application form per project.
