Grants to Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC nonprofits for education programs to assist low-income and underserved children and youth who have fallen further behind in education due to the pandemic. Funding is particularly intended for programs that include substantive community engagement.
2021 RFP - Priority Theme Education Achievement Gap:
Programs that seek to address in concrete and measurable manner the persistent education achievement disparities affecting low-income communities and communities of color, which have been exacerbated by the pandemic of 2020. The achievement gap is not a new problem to education. However, recent reports suggest that due to COVID-19, students are at risk for significant learning loss.
Proposals must address the following thematic criteria:
Proposals are encouraged to include ways for HTCC parishioners to become engaged through volunteer opportunities, as well as potential ways of fostering a long-term relationship between the implementing organization and the parish.

The grant must be spent within a two-year time period.
