Grants of up to $25,000 to Virginia nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and government and tribal entities to ensure equitable access to open space for all residents. Applicants must submit a pre-application prior to submitting a full application. Funding is intended to benefit communities that have been underserved or have not been adequately served by land conservation programs. The goal of the program is to serve as a flexible, adaptable tool to be used to address community needs.
VOF may provide funding for studies, planning, concept development, capacity building, and infrastructure to enable safe use of or access to public open space, as well as for land acquisition.

GO Fund grant agreements have a two-year lifespan, with a project period starting one month after approval.
