Grants of $2,500 to Virginia businesses in eligible locations for support during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis. Funding is intended to provide relief to small businesses with less than 25 full-time employees that have been negatively affected by the pandemic. Funds must serve qualified businesses in the city of Manassas.

CARES Act Small Business Grant funds are intended to provide support for small businesses of all types which have seen significant revenue losses due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

EDA will award grants of $2,500.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Businesses that meet all the following criteria are eligible:

- Be physically located in the City and have an active Business License
- Be current on all applicable City related taxes and fees
- Have been in operation in the City prior to February 1, 2019
- Have fewer than 25 permanent, full-time employees
- Be able to provide proof of COVID-19 related business losses of 35% or greater in both April and May of 2020

The following businesses are not eligible to apply:

- Businesses that received funding from the Rent Relief Program in Historic Downtown
- Home based businesses
- National chains and Franchise businesses that are not owner operated
- New and used auto dealerships and sales

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be received by June 30, 2020.

Manassas Businesses that receive funding under this program may be required to provide the Department of Economic Development with sales and meals tax filings and/or financial statements to show evidence of business losses. Award recipients may also be asked to provide employment data.

Applicants that receive awards must commit to remaining in business until December 30, 2020. Businesses that close their operations in the City prior to that time will be required to repay the grant.
