Grants of up to $5,000 to Kentucky and Virginia nonprofit organizations and local government agencies for tree planting initiatives. Funding is intended for projects in urban and non-urban parks, parkways, forests, and highways. Applicants must be located in the service areas of LG&E and KU.

LG&E and KU offer one-year grants for urban, suburban or rural projects in forests and parks, along parkways or roadways that meet program objectives. Applicants must demonstrate that mature trees resulting from their efforts will not interfere with utility lines.

Applicants must demonstrate that mature trees resulting from their efforts will not interfere with utility lines.

Pre-Application Information:

The next application period for Community Grants will open June 1, 2022 and close June 30, 2022.

Plant for the Planet Matching Grant applications will be accepted in February, June, and October. Award notifications will be sent approximately two months after each application period. Please note that your organization is only eligible to receive one award per year under this grant.
