Grant Description
Grants of up to $10,000 to Virginia nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and schools to address community needs in eligible regions. Funding areas of interest include education, the environment, and community development. Grant recipients will be expected to support the funding source in their annual community event. Eligible organizations serve residents in Charlottesville and Albemarle County.

The Blue Ridge Mountains Rotary Club’s Rabbit Run Committee is seeking innovative proposals from Charlottesville area nonprofit agencies or schools working in one of the impact areas listed below:

  • Peace and Conflict Resolution
  • Disease Prevention/Treatment
  • Water and Sanitation
  • Maternal Child and Health
  • Basic Education and Literacy
  • Economic and Community Development
  • Support the Environment 

Ramblin Rabbit Run 5K Race Support

Recipients of this grant will also make the commitment to support the Rabbit Run Race on October 21, 2023, through a variety of efforts. The Race Committee asks for co-branding and co-marketing support in the form of meetings, e-mail campaigns, social media, etc. Additionally, the Foundation hopes the organization receiving this grant will provide at least 10 race-day volunteers (including Board members and/or leaders). Of course, race participation would also be highly encouraged for anyone affiliated with your organization.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
The agency must be a 501(c)(3) public charity or government agency (such as a school) working in Charlottesville and/or Albemarle County.

Ineligible
The Blue Ridge Rotary Fund will not support endowment campaigns, annual appeals or awards to individuals.

Pre-Application Information
Deadline: June 2, 2023
Decision: July 31, 2023

Estimated Size of Grant
The beneficiary of the race will receive 50% of the profits from the race up to $10,000

Term of Contract
Funds are to be expended within one year from the date of the grant.
